A finished CAD file is not always required to begin a plastic part project. An existing sample, annotated photographs or a dimensioned sketch can provide a useful starting point for understanding function and basic geometry.

Photographs alone cannot confirm dimensions, material or tolerances. We therefore identify the available facts, mark missing inputs clearly and confirm the technical information required before production.

01Scope

What we evaluate together

Start from a physical sample

The part function, principal dimensions, assembly relationships and critical areas are reviewed.

Prepare from photos or sketches

Visual references establish form and application context while missing dimensions are identified separately.

Identify technical gaps

Unknown material, tolerance, surface and quantity requirements are separated before production decisions are made.

Move from development to production

The next step is defined as drawing, prototype, tooling review or production quotation according to project readiness.

02Production flow

A visible path from input to production

  1. 01Receive the sample, photos, sketch or idea
  2. 02Understand the function and expected outcome
  3. 03Identify missing dimensions and technical inputs
  4. 04Plan any required design or prototype step
  5. 05Assess the mold and production scope

03Project brief

Information that makes the first review useful

  • The sample or photographs from several angles
  • What the part is intended to do
  • Approximate external dimensions
  • Parts it joins or contacts
  • Initial order and estimated annual quantity
  • Essential surface or functional expectations
  • Target date and delivery country

Missing information does not prevent first contact; it is identified during the technical review.

04Questions and answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a mold quotation be prepared from photographs alone?

Photographs can support a preliminary review but do not confirm dimensions, material, tolerances or hidden geometry. Additional measurements or a physical sample may be required.

Can I start if I do not know the sample material?

Yes. You can state that the material is unknown. A final material decision must be based on operating conditions and verified technical data.

Can the existing part be reproduced exactly?

Exact reproduction is not assumed. Dimensions, material, surface, tolerances, rights and other project conditions must be reviewed before a feasible scope is defined.

What happens when the product is only an idea?

The team first clarifies the application and missing inputs in a short technical preparation discussion, then plans drawing, prototyping or tooling as a separate step.
